Category: Career and Purpose All successful companies have some kind of yearly goal setting process on both organisational, functional and team level. When we do that we naturally focus on milestones, KPIs and other aspects that benefit a role or organisation. Research shows us that the goals we are most likely to over-achieve and that bring us the strongest feelings of fulfilment, are the ones that we are tied to things that are uniquely meaningful to us. In other words, goals that we truly desire. You do not need to share them with anyone else, but ask yourself:
I wanted to write this little post because I have always been fascinated by how much time and energy we dedicate to reaching team goals. And naturally, in the work setting that makes sense. But we come first. Then comes work. Important to keep this in mind. Writing personal goals ensures we are investing in ourselves as a whole, not just the professional growth.
