PURPOSE is a big word.

And we are meant to live it,
not seek it endlessly.

One of the most common things that brings people to coaching, especially in our career coaching is one specific sentence:

“I am not sure what my purpose is”. This can be a really frustrating experience. Lately, many of us are becoming disillusioned by the fulfilment we thought we will get from our jobs and we start digging deeper for the answers of what legacy we want to leave behind.

Personally, I fully support that search. I believe it is beautiful that we dare to ask ourselves that question - is that it? I believe it is beautiful that we dare to seek something bigger and greater than ourselves.

But that is also when we often hit a wall. Because our purpose is not a job title. To connect with the answer of - what is my purpose, really - requires us to feel, to trust and take steps into uncertainty.

A good way to think of it is the word calling. Calling is more than a career or a role - it’s a sense of direction that guides our choices and actions.

The number one issue I see in sessions is:
  • Listening to Our Inner Voice: Often we know exactly what our calling is. And yet, we question it. We doubt it. It does not seem big enough. It does look like we thought it would. Or… it is scary.

Here is the other thing I see every time in purpose coaching:
  • If we dare to live in it, everything changes. The hard inner work is not discovering it, the hard inner work once we decide that not living our purpose is too big of a sacrifice.

In coaching sessions this calling starts to softly whisper and it is beautiful to witness how the feelings of being lost, transform into courage to live a braver life, a more purposeful life.

Yes, I often feel this way. But I do not know where to begin.
    Clarity is the greatest thing…
