Category: Career and Purpose One of the most common things that brings people to coaching, especially in our career coaching is one specific sentence:
“I am not sure what my purpose is”. This can be a really frustrating experience. Lately, many of us are becoming disillusioned by the fulfilment we thought we will get from our jobs and we start digging deeper for the answers of what legacy we want to leave behind. Personally, I fully support that search. I believe it is beautiful that we dare to ask ourselves that question - is that it? I believe it is beautiful that we dare to seek something bigger and greater than ourselves. But that is also when we often hit a wall. Because our purpose is not a job title. To connect with the answer of - what is my purpose, really - requires us to feel, to trust and take steps into uncertainty. A good way to think of it is the word calling. Calling is more than a career or a role - it’s a sense of direction that guides our choices and actions. The number one issue I see in sessions is:
