10.

So a big part of health & wellbeing coaching is about making changes and making sure they last?

Picture

Exactly! A big part of health and wellbeing coaching is about making meaningful, sustainable changes that improve our lives long-term. As simple as that. Sometimes it includes setting boundaries, other times it includes holding ourselves accountable for what we are trying to achieve.

But most often there are 3 steps:
  • Goal setting: defining where we are headed. Is this about a better sleep routine, managing stress, overcoming a condition, losing weight and exercise - the clearer the goal, the quicker we can get there.
  • Reality check: We must begin from where we are. It is not a problem to have a big and ambitious goal but we also must be honest about what is current reality. This helps us identify the gap and build an action plan. Then with the  ongoing support and encouragement of the coach, you will be able to overcome challenges.
  • Sustainable results: Coaching is not about depending on another person or external factors - it is about empowering you so that you are fully in control of your wellbeing, even when the coaching is finished. Instead of drastic or short-term changes, coaches focus on long-term success. This means fostering a positive relationship with health, where your new habits are simply part of your identity.

In essence, health and wellbeing coaching is about empowering individuals to not only make changes but to ensure those changes last and enhance their overall quality of life. This includes mindset shift, emotional shift and many more exciting aspects.

Love this. Can we talk in more depth about this topic? Where can we start?
Sure. Let us start with the most common one - managing stress.
