Lastly on self-care from the perspective of a health and wellbeing coach

As a health and wellbeing coach, I have seen how self-care rituals we set slowly transform beyond the little actions but invite us into a better mindset and foster a much more lasting change. What I also see is how we gradually discover what others told us many times - that we must take care of ourselves first before we take care of others. Self care is not selfish, it is essential.

And if you are creating a good self care ritual, these would be my tips:
  • Consistency over perfection: Small, consistent actions add up. Whether it’s five minutes of mediation or a short walk, or a workout session only once a week - it all matters.

  • Holistic approach: Self-care involves mind, body, and soul. It is not just about eating well or exercising - it’s about our mental health, emotional balance, and finding joy - especially laughter!

  • Growth mindset: we must take into consideration our current circumstances, especially during tough times, try to stay in non-judgement but also push ourselves outside of our comfort.

Oh, and one last thing that is my favourite! Words matter.  We often use words like ‘spoiling myself’ or ‘indulging or treating myself’ when we talk about things that both are good for us and feel good. So good to ask ourselves - am I holding a little bit of guilt or discomfort in that.

And then remind ourselves - I am the most precious person in my own life.
I get to spend my whole life with myself and I am worthy of a great life.

Oh, that makes me smile. Our relationship with ourselves is key.
I am glad. Let us talk about emotional wellbeing as a conclusion.
