Living between the mind and the heart: The unconscious, the subconscious, the conscious mind and the Higher Self.

We all live with a delicate balance between the mind and the heart. Many believe that there are four key levels of consciousness and each plays a unique role in shaping our experiences, behaviours, and emotions.

  • The Unconscious Mind: This is the deepest level of mind, where primal instincts, repressed memories, and unresolved emotional issues reside. It influences our actions without us being aware of it - f.ex. deep-seated fears may drive behaviors we don’t fully understand.

  • The Subconscious Mind: Sitting just below the surface of our conscious awareness, the subconscious holds beliefs, habits, and memories that shape our daily lives. Think of it as the inner programming that governs our habits, from how we react to stress to how we view ourselves to what we believe is possible for us in life.

  • The Conscious Mind: This is the active, thinking mind responsible for making decisions, solving problems, and reflecting on the present moment. Our conscious thoughts often create the narratives we live by, helping us navigate the world.

  • The Higher Self: This transcendent aspect of us is our deepest truth, it is beyond ego and conditioned thought. Accessing the higher self often requires quieting the mind, trusting intuition, and embracing a deeper sense of purpose.

When we are working with cultivating better emotional health and habits we often tap into the conscious and subconscious layers. But it is by tuning into all aspects of ourselves - particularly the Higher Self - we can create a more balanced and fulfilling life, where both heart and mind are one.

So you mean that emotions are a habit or they influence our habits?
Yes, think how often we skip something because ‘we did not feel like it’.
